The Forensic Crash Unit has launched an investigation following a fatal traffic incident on Computer Road in Yatala that claimed the life of a 57-year-old Woodridge man on the afternoon of July 15.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred around 2:00PM, when a truck traveling west along Computer Road collided with a Holden Commodore. The impact caused the Commodore to lurch forward, hitting a parked Ford Courier utility vehicle. Despite first aid efforts by emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a 46-year-old man from Murrarie, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police as they work to understand the events that led to this tragic outcome.
The area around Computer Road was temporarily closed as forensic investigators examined the scene. Authorities are now appealing to any witnesses who may have observed the crash or captured dashcam footage to come forward. Insights from bystanders and additional video footage could help clarify the sequence of events and any contributing factors involved in the collision.
