Gold Coast Traveller’s Wallet Allegedly Stolen from Miami Laundromat

An international traveller has reached out to the community for help after her wallet was allegedly taken from a laundromat in Miami. Carla Ritzzo, who is visiting the Gold Coast, says a couple left the premises with her wallet she had accidentally left there, which contained essential documents, cards, and papers.

The incident took place at the Waves Laundromat in Miami, leaving Carla stranded without vital belongings. Despite reporting the incident to police at the Broadbeach station, she says no significant leads have been uncovered so far.

Having a distinctive mohawk haircut
Covered in tattoos on his arms, which extend down to his hands
Calf tattoos

The man picks up the wallet and sees an opportunity to steal it.

In a heartfelt plea shared with The Gold Coast Torch, Carla expressed her frustration and desperation:
"I have all my papers and cards in that wallet. As a traveller, this has left me in a tough spot. I’ve reported it to the police in Broadbeach, but nothing has come up so far. If anyone recognises the couple or has any information, please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated."

The couple was seen fiddling around with wallet's contents seeing if there was anything of value.

The police at Broadbeach have been informed of the incident. CCTV footage from the laundromat is available and screenshots have been captured for the couple in question.

Gold Coast police encourage anyone with information about the couple or their whereabouts to come forward.

They place the wallet on top of the bench next to their washing machine detergent, indicating it's now theirs.
