A 38-year-old man from New South Wales has been charged in relation to an alleged assault that took place in Oxenford yesterday, August 7, leaving two men injured.
Emergency services were called to a property on Studio Drive shortly after 2:30PM following reports of a violent altercation involving three men. Upon arrival, paramedics and police officers located two Oxenford men, aged 32 and 26, who had sustained non-life-threatening facial injuries. Both men were treated on-site before being transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for further medical care.
Police quickly launched a search in the surrounding area, and within a short time, officers located and arrested the 38-year-old alleged assailant along Hepburn Street.
The man has since been charged with multiple offences, including two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of wilful damage. He is scheduled to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today, August 8.
Investigators allege that the three men involved in the altercation were known to each other, though the details leading up to the incident remain under examination. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the altercation or has additional information about the incident to come forward as inquiries continue.
