Detectives from Taskforce Latro West have arrested and charged a 33-year-old Ormeau woman after discovering a significant quantity of drugs in her vehicle and later at her residence in Ormeau. The operation, which involved both a vehicle stop and a home search, led to multiple charges connected to alleged drug possession, trafficking, and related offences.
The investigation began on June 7, when police intercepted the woman’s vehicle around 4:45PM in Ormeau. During a search, officers allegedly found over 10 grams of the drug ice inside the vehicle. The discovery prompted further investigation, and on June 11, Pimpama police conducted a search warrant at the woman’s Ormeau home. The search reportedly revealed additional quantities of drugs, along with drug paraphernalia and other items associated with drug-related activities.
As a result of these findings, the woman has been charged with multiple offences, including four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, trafficking in dangerous drugs, and possessing items used in the commission of drug-related offences. Other charges include driving with a relevant drug in her blood or saliva, possession of utensils used for drug consumption, possession of medications restricted under S4 and S8 drug classifications, and possession of property suspected to be proceeds from drug offences.
The woman is scheduled to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 8 to face the charges. Police confirmed that a 19-year-old Ormeau man was also present during the search and received a drug diversion for a minor offence.
Taskforce Latro West has ramped up its efforts against drug-related activities on the Gold Coast, with authorities stating that operations such as this reflect a broader strategy to target those involved in the supply and distribution of dangerous substances within the community.
The Gold Coast Torch will continue to monitor this case and provide further updates to combat drug-related crime.
