Residents of Paradise Waters on the Gold Coast are raising the alarm over a series of attempted break-ins and vehicle thefts that have left the community on edge. Dubbed the "Barefoot Bandits," the culprits are believed to be responsible for a recent wave of suspicious activity in the usually quiet suburb.

As a community-driven response, residents have come together to collect evidence and share information to aid the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in building a case against the alleged offenders.

The group, described as working in pairs, has been linked to a silver Mitsubishi Outlander (2006–2012 model) with Victorian registration plates: 1ZS4RM. The vehicle has reportedly been sighted multiple times in the area during suspicious activity. Community members are warning others to remain vigilant and to report any sightings of the car or individuals acting suspiciously. If you have any information about the silver Mitsubishi Outlander (Rego: 1ZS4RM) or the suspects known as the "Barefoot Bandits," please contact Crime Stoppers or your local police station. Together, we can help make our community safer.

As investigations continue, Paradise Waters residents remain determined to protect their neighborhood and ensure their community’s safety. The Gold Coast Torch will provide updates as more information becomes available.
