A Currumbin family is reeling after their e-bike, their main form of transportation, was stolen from their home near Teemangum and Tomewin streets. The theft has left the family struggling to manage daily life, as the bike was essential for commuting to work and taking children to daycare.

The stolen e-bike has reportedly been spotted in the Tweed Heads area, including on Minjungbal Drive and Darlington Drive.

The suspect, captured on CCTV footage, is described as a man aged between 45 and 50 years old. He was driving a distinctive white Holden Commodore ute with:

  • A white hard lid
  • Black bug mesh on the bonnet

The footage has been shared with police, who are now investigating the incident.

The theft has been devastating for the family, who had recently sold their car to reduce financial pressures amidst rising costs of living. The e-bike was a crucial part of their efforts to manage expenses while still meeting their transportation needs.

“This is devastating for my family. We cannot afford to replace the bike, and now we have limited transport to get our kids to daycare and for me to get to work,” the victim shared.

In a bid to recover the stolen bike, the family is offering a cash reward for its return. They are appealing to the community for any information about the suspect, the vehicle, or the whereabouts of the bike.

The family is urging anyone who may have seen the e-bike, the suspect, or the white Commodore ute in Currumbin, Tweed Heads, or nearby areas to come forward. If you have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from these areas, particularly around Minjungbal Drive and Darlington Drive, your evidence could be vital.
