A concerning series of incidents involving a group of young thieves has left local residents in Studio Village and nearby Oxenford on edge. The crime spree, which occurred late last night, saw a group of approximately six individuals, including both boys and girls aged around 14-15, attempt to break into several properties and vehicles. The group is suspected of targeting homes and stealing valuables in what appears to be a series of calculated crimes.
The first incident took place in Studio Village around 11:45 PM. A local resident described how the group, attempting to break into homes, had initially tried to hide in the area, likely hoping to gain access to the properties. The group’s plan was foiled when one of the suspects was spotted by the resident, causing the thieves to flee. Despite this, they managed to gain access to the back seat of a locked vehicle. The car owner remains baffled as to how the suspects were able to break into the car, but it’s confirmed that items were stolen, and the vehicle was left with noticeable scratches.

The criminals then moved on to a nearby house, located just a few streets away in Oxenford, where they successfully stole a car from the property. The theft was caught on surveillance video, and police are currently reviewing footage from the area, which also includes footage from nearby schools. The video may provide key evidence in identifying the suspects.
While the group’s exact movements remain unclear, it’s reported that as soon as someone inside the homes woke up or became aware of their presence, the suspects were seen sprinting off, presumably to avoid detection.

The police are investigating the situation, and authorities have potentially identified one of the individuals, a girl in the group, based on the footage. However, confirmation is still pending, and local residents are being urged to come forward with any additional information.
There’s concern in the community, as this incident highlights the vulnerability of both homes and vehicles to theft and vandalism. The group’s brazen actions have left many in the area wondering how far they are willing to go, and residents are reminded to take extra precautions, such as ensuring cars are locked and securing homes with reliable locks.
If you have any information that could assist in identifying these individuals or if you recognise any of the suspects involved, please contact local law enforcement immediately. The community’s support is vital in ensuring the safety and security of the area.
