Three men have been charged in connection with an alleged road rage-fueled assault in Coomera late on June 28, where a roadside altercation left one man injured and several others shaken.
According to police, the incident began around 11PM when a white MG and a blue Mazda pulled over along Steves Way in Coomera. An argument erupted between the occupants of both vehicles, reportedly stemming from an earlier road rage confrontation. Tensions escalated, and a physical altercation followed.
A 28-year-old man from Nerang, who was traveling in the white MG, sustained non-life-threatening facial injuries during the altercation. He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable condition for treatment. Three other occupants of the MG also suffered minor injuries, though they did not require hospital care.
Before police arrived, the Mazda had already left the scene. However, patrols were conducted in the vicinity, and officers located the vehicle parked on O’Reilly Drive around 11:30PM. Inside were three men—identified as a 20-year-old from Biggera Waters and two men, aged 21 and 36, from Marsden.
The three were taken into custody and have each been charged with one count of wounding and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm. They are scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on July 11.
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to gather further details about the incident and identify any additional witnesses. Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the altercation or who has relevant dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
