A man and a woman have been charged after an alleged break and enter at a Paradise Point chemist early this morning, October 17, which reportedly involved the use of a stolen vehicle.
According to police, the incident unfolded around 1:30AM when a black Range Rover was driven into a business on Grice Avenue, causing significant damage to the premises. Police allege that the two suspects, a 25-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, used the vehicle to force entry into the chemist.
Officers responded swiftly, arriving within minutes of the break-in. At the scene, they apprehended a 25-year-old woman from Coolangatta. The stolen Range Rover was also located at the site, and it was later confirmed that the vehicle had been taken from a Helensvale address sometime between 2:30PM on October 16 and 1:30AM on October 17.
Following investigations, the woman has been charged with multiple drug-related offenses, including three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and three counts of possession of restricted medicines and hazardous substances. She is scheduled to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on November 11.
The 20-year-old man from Southport faces charges related to unlawful use of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering, and committing an indictable offence on the premises. He has been denied police bail and is set to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 18.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft and break-in, and further details may emerge as they review security footage and gather witness statements.
